One of the characteristics of Kurikyu's Magewappa Lunch Box is that its external surface is coated with urethane as to last a long time. Since the internal surface is left the plain wood, users could have delicious rice with Akita cedar's smell, cooled slightly without any excess moisture.

Though the internal surface isn't covered with urethane, it cools down the rice and removes any extra moisture, making rice delicious. You may put rice in the lower box and use the upper box exclusively for side dishes. If you would like to put rice in the upper box and put a large number of side dishes in the larger lower box, we recommend you purchase the RS, which is composed of an unpainted upper box and a painted lower box. However, the RL, which is composed of a painted upper box and an unpainted lower box, is more commonly used and more popular. As Koban Ireko Ladies is a little larger than the Koban L, it is also recommended for men. It is used by placing the upper box on top of the lower box's cover.
