Nousaku

Cool and mellow. Tin, the best material for drinking vessels.

Tin transfers heat very well. Turns cool with cold sake in it, and turns moderately warm with hot sake.

Further, due to its high ion effect, it has a sterilizing and freshness-retaining function, which is why the flavor of sake becomes soft and mellow.

Tin has almost no smell of metal, and as it is harmless to the human body, it can be used safely. Moreover, since it is highly acid-resistant, it doesn't rust in black alike silver, and can be handled similarly as normal vessels, thus, easy to maintain.

The gold foil is done by Ishikawa Prefecture's traditional techniques. Not to mention its use in everyday drinks, your special guests would surely be deeply impressed by its brightness as well.

Nousaku, Toyama Prefecture's top brand.

Products of Nousaku, a brand working with various metal goods such as tin and brass, centering on copper, are both traditional and innovative.

Includes products such as simple beer cups and drinking vessels solely utilizing tin as material, wind bell made of brass which produces a timbre that Nousaku is massively confident about, chopstick rest best suited for gifts, as well as the bendable vessel Kago, something that has never been created before.

These are products created by applying the traditional technology of Takaoka copperware, with a 400-year history. Nousaku is a traditional craft brand representing Toyama Prefecture.

What is Takaoka copperware?

The production of Takaoka copperware started when Toshinaga Maeda, the feudal lord of Kaga Domain, gathered casting craftsmen to Takaoka town in 1611.

Takaoka copperware refers to copper wares that are created by pouring melted, high-temperature copper into a mold, and by molding and polishing.

95% of the copper wares, such as the bells at the temples, are made in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture.

Nousaku products are made by the traditional technology, that has been nurtured in Toyama, Japan for 400 years.

I'm very happy with all of the items and how quickly they arrived! Thank you. I only just realised a moment ago when I saw the Showroom page on your website that I actually visited your Ginza showroom back in Spring! I loved so many of the items and was regretting not getting anything, so it's a perfect coincidence to have found your website. I look forward to visiting your showroom again in future.

I was taking advantage of strong USD to Japanese ¥, and I am glad I did order many things! :-) Everything arrived in less than anticipated time frame for delivery and is in perfect condition due to the efficiently and meticulously packed merchandise! I am still mesmerized how efficient Japanese way of packing so many items in this box with no space wasted, yet it is so obvious that it was done with TLC so nothing is damaged! I learned as I unpacked! Everybody needs to learn packing like Japanese! :-) Opening the package was a great pleasure with a sense of anticipation and mystery even though I knew what I ordered. You could feel the TLC when unwrapping each item like it is coming from a good friend! I felt confident as always ordering beautiful products from Shokunin, as they are of good quality which will last a long time if I take care of them well and hope could extend their life to the next generation. I kept telling my son that he would inherit those beautiful items ;-). Wish I could get everything they offer..:-).
